Much more than a race
Founded in 2021, Monsterrando has become an international benchmark for gravel cycling, a discipline that finds its ideal stage in Monferrato, surrounded by white roads (strade bianche), rolling hills, and historic villages.
Now a prestigious UCI Gravel international race, this event is not only a love letter to the region, but also a top-tier technical challenge.
The event features two highly spectacular competitive routes: a 125 km long course and a 90 km medium course. Both consist of roughly 70% unpaved roads and technical sections designed to put the riders’ bike handling skills and endurance to the ultimate test.
Thanks to this unique formula and the technical nature of the course, the race attracts hundreds of cycling enthusiasts and world-class champions every year.
The event’s appeal has firmly crossed national borders. Last year, it earned the ultimate endorsement when a prominent figure from the UCI itself openly described it as “THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RACE IN THE WORLD”, cementing Monferrato’s place among the global stars of gravel cycling.
Starting with the 2026 edition, joining the two famous professional races is a non-competitive touring option open to everyone: the “Monsterrando Tourist – Gran Monferrato Randonnée”.
